Care

Soapstone is naturally nonporous and generally does not require sealing. For routine care, clean the surface with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral soap and wipe up spills promptly. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, and acidic products that may affect the surface’s appearance. Use cutting boards and trivets to help minimize scratches and protect the stone from prolonged contact with hot cookware. Mineral oil may be applied periodically to enhance the color and create a more consistent appearance, although oiling is optional. Minor scratches are a natural part of soapstone and can typically be addressed through light sanding or professional refinishing.
